While I was in Thailand for a conference by the organization I was in China with, the Lord made a very distinct and clear call on my heart. He looked me dead in the eyes, and told me, "Courtney, Daughter, I LOVE YOU. Do you get it? Do you really get it? Because, I Love you" When He looked me in the eyes and told me, my initial response was an overwhelming feeling of emotion, awe, joy and heartbreak at how often/quickly I forget this in my daily living. As I was crying, He finished with this, "Courtney, Daughter, you know I love you. But they don't know that. (He was pointing outside my hotel room to the world beyond my little corner of earthly space) They don't know I love them, and I want you to tell them. Courtney, I want to use you to tell them "I love them too"". Okay and at this point, cue the waterworks because they were on overload!
As God pointed out to me very specifically what He wanted to do with me, I dropped to my knees as His heartache for His daughters became mine. I have always prayed the line in a song, "break my heart for what breaks yours, everything I am for your Kingdom's cause", and He has answered. That night He broke my heart for His heartbreak in desiring His daughters to drop all of the things/people they are trying to fill a God-made and God-sized whole in their heart with. My heart also broke as I saw how much these women are missing. They are missing the One who truly loves them. The One who knows them better than they know themselves. I mean what girl doesn't dream of finding a man who will really know her someday. A man who will study her and know more about her than she realizes about her own self? Most girls do, but most girls don't realize their dreams have already been fulfilled in the man of Jesus Christ. Ladies, He made you, He gave you that extra curl in your hair, that extra freckle on your nose, those beautiful long legs, or that beautiful, loud laugh with a little snort mixed in. He choose each aspect about you to adorn you with His Image. His BEAUTY! Yes, He made you exactly the beautiful way you are. But it didn't just end there, He made you, He forsaw all the dirty messes you would make, the lies, the cheating, the backstabbing, the fighting, the impurities of your heart and life, BUT STILL CHOOSE TO COME TO YOU AND SAVE YOU! Yes, to all my fairytale-dreaming sisters out there, He SAVED you like the beautiful damsel in distress that you always imagined happening with the boy you end up marrying! He came to save us in a way that speaks to every romance-seeking fiber of our womanly beings. We were created to be pursued, fought for, and romanced. And Jesus Christ came and did just this.
As I discovered this whole vision of what God wanted me doing, He did not give me a step by step manual describing how exactly and in what capacity this was going to take place. So, I simply made note of it in my journal, continued to pray about it and kept walking forward. It was not until I moved here and accepted a position as a Coach with a Pregnancy Crisis Hotline, did I actually see the how and what capacity I would be doing this. I trained for two weeks, and then yesterday, I was blessed with my first opportunity to work just me and the Spirit guiding. And guide, He did! I received some difficult calls, with women in difficult situations. But there is one call that shined the beacon of His Light on the call He placed in my heart back in February. A woman called in, crying and hurting. Her circumstances are difficult, and as I talked with her for some time, I felt the Spirit's prompting. So I asked this woman if I could pray over her. She agreed, and as she wept, the Spirit interceded, and He used me to tell her the most important thing she'll ever hear, "I love you" from Her Creator. And I have full faith, she heard every "I love you" that rang through the phone from Him to her!
Words cannot describe how blessed I feel to be used in this capacity! How cool we serve a God who wants to redeem us, but then also to turn us right around and use us to redeem many more of His children!
Apart from my incredible blessing of working where I do, I have begun to meet more and more people in my apartment complex. Many of the tenants attend either my seminary, DTS, or the Criswell Bible College down the street. So there is a lot of sharpening happening here in these walls of my apartment complex! Also, the Father has continued to provide each day the funds I need to pay my bills, and that is a praiseworthy thing, Thank you Jesus!
I have also begun developing a relationship with the woman my mom and I met in Subway, I have attended church with her and her family for the past few weeks now, and I really admire their family. Their daughter is adorable, and gives me hugs everytime she sees me! And, Jody, has been so kind to introduce me to every around the church- it really feels like a community and "home" atmosphere! I hope to continue growing deeper within this community!
I also had a co-worker take me to her Young Adults Group at her church tonight, and that was a huge blessing! Her church is SO big. I thought Reality was big, NO way her church is GINORMOUS! if that's even a word, but nevertheless, the Good News was preached, and I love how He's been equipping me! I love being a soldier in His Army! What a privilege to stand among you all my brothers and sisters as we rebuke the enemy, and fight on to win the race marked before us with perseverance! I wouldn't want to stand with any other group! :)
Here are a couple cool encouraging resources I've recently discovered check them out!
